THE PERILS OF SIN
there are two types of sin.
mortal and venial
mortal and venial
It is “mortal” sin and “venial” sin. Not mortal sin and immortal sin. This is something that is taught in the catholic church.
According to them, “mortal sin” is a sin that will send you to hell and damnation(like murder, adultery) and “venial sin” is considered to be of a lesser nature and will not send you to hell but you still need to repent(like lying)
This is biblical wrong. According to the bible, ALL SIN will separate you from God. No sinful person can enter the presence of God. That’s why Jesus came to earth to give humans a way to get rid of their sin and get to the state where they can be in the presence of God(heaven). If you acknowledge Jesus as the son of God Almighty and believe that He died for YOUR sins and repent for your sins and confess them to Jesus, He will forgive you and that sin will be wiped off your slate forever. From then on, you have to walk away from sinning. Jesus gives you the power through his Grace to walk away from sinning. Use it.
All sins will be forgiven if you repent of it and confess it and revoke it. But there is one sin that will NOT be forgiven. If you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, Jesus said in Matt 12:31–32
“ 31-So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven.
32 Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.
